How to request an inspection  (This is for existing Permits only- NOT for Code Enforcement)

Per N.J.A.C. § 5:23-2.18 (c) The owner or other responsible person in charge of work shall notify the enforcing agency, in writing.

Inspection requests will not be taken via phone and must be emailed.  This is to ensure a paper record. Please do not leave a voicemail requesting an inspection as it will not be scheduled.

You must provide the following information to schedule an inspection.  This information is needed for every inspection request:

• Permit Number.  Inspections cannot be scheduled without a permit number.  Please include a permit number with EVERY inspection request.

• Address where the work is being done.

• Type of Inspection. Building, Fire, Electric, Plumbing or Mechanical.?

• Specific work. Footing? Frame? Insulation? Elec Rough? Plumb Rough? Final?

• Name and CELL number of person ordering this inspection.

• Name and CELL number of the person on site.

• Additional Information– ex: Lock Box code & location.

If any of the above requested information is missing, your inspection cannot be scheduled.

You will receive a response via email, either confirming the requested inspection or to make
additional arrangements due to schedule availability.

All inspections are Tuesday and Thursday.
Exact times cannot be given since the order and length of inspections vary.
