Added Assessment Bills were mailed on 10/21/25
See below for additional information.
Property tax bills are mailed out ONCE a year, usually in mid-July, and include four stubs covering four quarterly payments. The bill mailed in July includes the third and fourth quarters of the current year and the preliminary first and second quarters of the next year.
Payments are due quarterly: February 1, May 1, August 1 and November 1. Runnemede offers a ten (10) day grace period, the maximum allowed by state statute. If the 10th day falls on a weekend or a borough holiday, the grace period is extended to the borough’s next business day.
ADDED ASSESSMENTS: An Added Assessment is an increase in assessed value for improvement(s) to property completed after January 10th. A new structure or an addition to, or alteration of, an old structure, is valued as of the first day of the month following completion. Because tax billing is completed in the summer, added assessments are billed separately in October.
To pay the total due for the 4th quarter (current year) and the 1st and 2nd quarters (coming year), both bills must be added together.
Local sewer bills are mailed out once a year in February and include two stubs covering two yearly payments. Payments are due March 1 and September 1. There is a ten-day grace period. If the 10th falls on a weekend or a borough holiday, the grace period is extended to the next regular business day.
In addition to Borough Sewer, property owners are also responsible for regional sewer through the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority (CCMUA). You can reach CCMUA at 856-541-3700. The Borough of Runnemede cannot assist with CCMUA account questions.
Payments can be made in person, via mail carrier and online. A 24-hour drop box is located in the wall next to the main door at Borough Hall. Payments placed in the drop box after normal business hours will be credited the next business day. Do NOT put cash in the drop box. All checks should be made out to the Borough of Runnemede and include at least one of the following: Block/ Lot, Account ID or address. Returned checks, for any reason, are subject to a $35 fee per §111-1 of Brough Code.
IN-PERSON PAYMENTS: Visits to the tax/ sewer office are always welcome! Only the following forms of payment are accepted: Cash, Check or Money Order.
MAIL CARRIER PAYMENTS: Payments can be mailed to: Borough of Runnemede, 24 N Black Horse Pike, Runnemede, NJ 08078. If you require a receipt, please enclose the entire bill and a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment.
ONLINE PAYMENTS: Payments made via the Borough website are subject to 3rd party fees. Paying by ACH or e-check incurs a $1.95 convenience fee. The fee for all debit and credit card payments will be approximately 2.95% of your total payment. The Borough of Runnemede neither receives, nor controls, convenience charges.
If your property is in tax sale or there is a returned check fee on your account, then you will be unable to pay online until those issues have been corrected.
BILL PAY (via personal bank): Online payments made through your bank are not electronic transfers. Your bank mails a physical check to the Borough. The date of payment is the date that the Borough receives the check. Neither the postmark, nor the date on the check, are accepted as the payment date. Most banks recommend scheduling the payment at least 10 business days prior to the due date of Feb 1, May 1, Aug 1 and Nov 1, for payment to be received within the 10-day grace period.
